Collectors, this is your chance to fill holes in your Swiss Army Knife collection with two vintage knives. First is an early 70s 91mm Picnicker/Campingmesser, an extremely rare and highly-desired retired model. Its distinguishing feature is its blade layer; the regular spear point plain-edged large blade being replaced by its serrated counterpart and the small blade being replaced by the hooked pruning blade. Serrated and pruning blades were/are not common in Cellidor-scaled knives and this one features both. Remaining tools are the saw, the standard opener layer and corkscrew and awl on the back. Key to determining the date of this knife note the Elinox Crossbow tang stamp, the 5 turn fluted corkscrew, the eyeless awl and the aluminum head tweezers. The corkscrew is sprung slightly upward when closed.
Please use the zoom function to examine the knife. If your collection is missing a Picnicker/Campingmesser this may be your only chance to fill it in. If you're just getting started then this can be a great addition to your growing collection. Also included in this lot of vintage SAKs is a Hiker from the 70s featuring the square-shank backside Phillips with the can key without the file. This was produced starting in about 1974.This knife has the openers layer, a saw layer and the backside Phillips and awl, While not as rare as the Picnicker it is still around 40 years old and getting harder and harder to find. Both of these knives have regular nickel-silver shields (and camping insignia on the Picnicker) inlaid into the handle.
